Duke Dumont and The Script battle it out for Number 1 single

London producer Duke Dumont is currently leading the race on today’s Official Chart Update with his club classics-inspired Won’t Look Back, which leaps a massive 168 places following its download release this week. If he manages to hold on to the lead, it will mark the DJ’s third consecutive Number 1 single.

However, he faces stiff competition from The Script, whose new single Superheroes enters at Number 2. Less than 5,000 copies separate the two at the midweek stage.

Last week’s Number 1 from Lilly Wood and Robin Schulz, Prayer In C, slips to 3, and new girl group G.R.L debut at 4 with Ugly Heart. The US five-piece, who were put together by Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin, entered the chart earlier this year featuring on Pitbull’s Wild Wild Love, which peaked at Number 6.

At Number 5 is Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off, which spends a third week inside the Top 5.

New entries and high climbers

Further down the chart, Berlin-based producer Oliver Dollar and House DJ Jimi Jules are currently at Number 12 with Pushing On, a club track that samples Quantic Soul Orchestra’s 2003 single of the same name.

A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera’s Say Something re-enters the Top 40 at Number 21 this week following its appearance on last Sunday’s episode of The X Factor, and Amsterdam-born producer Ferreck Dawn lands at 29 with Love Too Deep.
