In the current music landscape, songs are increasingly transcending their viral social media success to enjoy Official Singles Chart success.

Whether it's giving established hits like Natasha Bedingfield's Unwritten a second lease of life or breaking artists in new territories (case in point: Muni Long's Made for Me), the Official Chart illustrates the ever-changing nature of music consumption.

And now End of Beginning, a 2-year-old track from Djo is the latest to reach new highs thanks, in part, to a viral TikTok boost.

MORE: Everything you need to know about Djo's End of Beginning trend

End of Beginning - a track from Djo's 2022 studio album DECIDE which never received the official single treatment - becomes the singer, songwriter and actor's first-ever Official Top 5 single in the UK (5); vaulting six spots in its third week on chart.

That's an impressive 50.7% week-on-week uplift.

It's TikTok stats are quite something, too. Over the last seven days, creations using the End of Everything sound have increased by 88%, with its video views up 80%.

Speaking to Official Charts, Adam Read, Music Editorial Manager UK & Ireland at TikTok says:

"Songs don't have to be new to blow up, and anything can start a trend that catapults a song to success.

"With End of Beginning, which was released in 2022, the trend sees the community sharing love letters to the city of Chicago, creating content around their favourite places, activities and memories and it's caught on across the pond with UK creators sharing people or places they love and want to return to.

"It's something we've seen countless times on the platform and it never gets old. We're delighted for Djo and team, who are now climbing the Official Singles Chart."

LISTEN to Djo's End of Beginning:

Djo is the alias of singer, songwriter and actor Joe Keery. Born in Newburyport, Massachusetts, USA on April 24 1992, Keery is famed for roles in sci-fi series Stranger Things, 2021 action comedy film Free Guy and crime drama show Fargo.

Of course, this isn't the first time a Stranger Things-adjacent song has seen viral - and Official Chart - success. In 2022, Kate Bush's 1985 release Running Up That Hill experienced a renaissance following its inclusion in the show; capturing a new generation and consequently reaching Number 1 in the UK for the first time ever.

Could End of Beginning prove a future chart-topper? Stranger Things have happened...
