DJ Erick Morillo, known for hit single I Like To Move It, dies aged 49

The DJ and producer scored a string of dance hits in the 1990s.

DJ Erick Morillo, known for his hit single I Like To Move It, has died aged 49.

The Colombian-American DJ and producer was found dead in Miami Beach, Florida, according to TMZ. A cause of death has not been revealed.

Erick's biggest chart hit I Like To Move It was released under the pseudonym Reel 2 Real. The song was a huge hit in the UK, peaking at Number 5 and spending 11 weeks in the Official UK Singles Chart Top 10. 

The track saw a resurgence in recent years after being featured heavily in the Madagascar films.

Erick was facing charges of sexual battery after he was arrested last month. He was accused of sexual battery on a woman in December at his home and turned himself in on August 6. He was scheduled to appear in court on Friday, September 4.
