Delta Goodrem returns with soaring new single Back to Your Heart
Last month marked 20 years since the release of Sydney-born singer-songwriter Delta Goodrem's debut LP Innocent Eyes. An album serving four Top 20 hits - including Born to Try and Lost Without You - it peaked at Number 2 in the UK, just behind Beyoncé's Dangerously in Love. Not bad going, eh?
Since then, Delta's gone on to achieve six Top 40 singles and two Top 40 albums and, this week, she's ready to usher in a brand-new era.
Ahead of her first-ever headline tour of the UK, which kicks off in Glasgow on August 22, Delta will release Back to Your Heart; the first on her own label ATLED Records. And, being the dream that she is, she's only gone and given us a First Listen to the track.

Truly taking the reigns in this new, independent era, Delta returns with a souring behemoth bursting with early nineties nostalgia.
Opening with euphoric synths, Delta sings "These days I feel so small, feel like I've lost control, these lonely days never end. Try to turn down the noise, it's hard to hear my voice, when it's all in my head.
"When you're feelin' down and out, life is for the here and now."
Then, in comes the sing-along chorus for a massive, stadium-ready pop moment.
"So get out of your head and into your heart, the road is never too far. That's what it takes, it's who we are, so keep running back, running back to your heart"
It's a track that wouldn't be out of place on Celine Dion's The Colour of My Love or Tina Turner's Foreign Affair albums; with its huge vocal runs and powerful production.

Announcing the single on social media recently, Delta wrote: "No album or music I have ever made has come together the same way as the last. I have always been inspired by the creation of music, but also the ever changing landscape of the industry.
"In these moments, it’s particularly thrilling to construct your own universe with like-minded individuals who have unwavering faith in you, just as you do in them. These are the hearts that will join you on the journey.
"I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude towards the incredible community that has supported me for over two decades. But times have changed and so have I. It’s a new era, new world, with endless possibilities - so I created a new home for my music. Welcome to ATLED Records."
Delta's brand-new single Back to Your Heart is released August 4 via ATLED Records.
