Dave tops Official Trending Chart with Starlight as he eyes second UK Number 1 single

Starlight was a surprise drop in celebration of the start of his UK tour.

Today, Dave's surprise new single Starlight tops the UK's Official Trending Chart, the Official Charts Company can reveal.

Starlight becoming the UK's Number Trending Song is a very positive step in its journey towards possibly becoming Dave's second UK Number 1 single this week. In our First Look Update, Starlight looks set to end Encanto's seven-week long reign at the top of the Official Singles Chart.

There are also a handful of new risers on the Trending Chart this week, as a number of acts find themselves pacing up 20 places or more inside the Singles Chart at the midweek mark.

These include Russ Millions, Buni and YV who could leap into the Top 20 for the first time this week with their link-up Reggae & Calypso, and Griff & Sigrid eye up cracking the Top 40 for the first time with Head On Fire, following a spirited performance on The One Show last week.

And following on from a breakout second season where it dominated conversation online, Euphoria track I'm Tired is on the rise. It's credited to the show's music composer Labrinth, as well as its star Zendaya.

Meanwhile, new entries on the Official Trending Chart this week include viral duo A1 & J1 with their new track Night Away (Dance) with Tion Wayne, ArrDee's latest offering Come & Go taken from his forthcoming debut mixtape Pier Pressure and Camila Cabello's newest heartbreak anthem Bam Bam featuring Ed Sheeran.

Further new entries come from Digga D and Moneybag Yo with G Lock, Feelz and Buju's Finnesse, Machine Gun Kelly's latest Ay! featuring Lil Wayne and hard rock guitarist David Kushner's Mr Forgettable. Finally, Omah Lay gains the final new Trending entry of the week, courtesy of his song Attention featuring none other than Justin Bieber.
