Dannii Minogue to release We Could Be The One from BBC's I Kissed A Boy
All profits from the single will be donated to Switchboard LGBT+
Dannii Minogue has announced that We Could Be The One, the theme song from her BBC Three dating show I Kissed A Boy, will be released this Friday (June 2).
The anthemic banger is Dannii’s first new song in six years, though she did release All I Wanna Do 2020, a reworked version of her classic 1997 hit All I Wanna Do, three years ago.
It was co-written and produced by Dannii’s long-time collaborator Ian Masterson, who worked with her on her 1997 album Girl and 2003 LP Neon Nights. On Twitter, Dannii confirmed that remixes of the up-tempo dance-pop song will be coming very soon.
My new single, I Kissed A Boy theme 'We Could Be The One', is out 12AM Friday, June 2. Remixes coming very soon. Pre-save the track now at the link in my bio 👆🏻 Proceeds to @switchboardlgbt, there with help & support 10AM - 10PM, 365 days a year 🏳️🌈 pic.twitter.com/9qMGfL75eQ

MORE: The Official Top 40 biggest songs of 2023 so far
We Could Be The One is perfectly timed for Pride Month because all profits from the single will go to Switchboard LGBT+, a charity that has been offering support and advice to the UK’s queer community since 1974.
Dannii, a staunch LGBTQ+ ally, recorded the song especially for I Kissed A Boy, which is being billed as the UK’s first ever gay dating show. It premiered in May on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer.
Dannii’s impressive record on the Official Chart includes 9 Top 10 singles and 19 Top 40s. Her highest chart position came in 2003 when I Begin to Wonder peaked at Number 2.

We Could Be The One arrives while her sister Kylie Minogue is riding high with Padam Padam, her highest-charting UK single in nearly a decade.
Is it too soon to call it a “Minoguaissance”?

An artist that rules the charts in 2023 would be someone like Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran or Lewis Capaldi. Kylie didn't even break into the top 20, that's not my idea of ruling the charts.

I bet you where Taylor Swift , Ed Sheeran or Lewis Capaldi will be in 35 years.... you can compare those to Kylie....go to sleep

I have always preferred Dannii to her more manufactured sister. She is a more genuine soul who truly does seem to care about the LGBTQI community. This and many other examples show her sister up as a bit of a parasite. Dannii is very vocal about gay rights, Kylie stays silent and sits on the fence. Her no comment policy borders on offensive given the only fans keeping her afloat are the over 40 gay ones!
Dannii was never afraid to rebel and try new things. I find Kylie false, and more calculated. With Dannii what you see is what you get. She's also very much a vocal supporter of obvious idol Madonna whereas Kylie seems to benefit from her nemesis but never gives thanks. This single is such a bop too unlike the novelty gimmick song her sister is peddling. And its for a great LGBTQI cause.

At least someone in the Minogue family (with talent) is doing something worthwhile for the LGBTQ community, rather than just taking their money, unlike her elderly giggling, scatterbrained Sister.

giddy? your comment is stupid. if anyone has always been with the lgbt community it is Kylie. Jealous

what a lovely comment... but it's time for you to go back under the rock now gag-.

What exactly has she done for the LGBT community?

It's mind-blowing she does stuff like this and the (tacky) gays allow it. Anyone else would've been crucified.

It didnt go unnoticed. But it shows where her true loyalty lies

Kylie just does music, and for I know, music has nothing to do with sexual preferences, it's for everyone who loves to listen to it ... or you just think there are gays who don't listen to rock, heavy metal or rap??? So narrow minded you resulted to be
