D-Block Europe take on The Vaccines for this week’s Number 1 album

In a battle of rap and rock, D-Block Europe take an early lead over The Vaccines in the race for this week’s Official Number 1 album with Rolling Stone. 

The third full-length album from DBE is currently expected to debut at the summit and become the duo’s first-ever Number 1 record. 

It would join their current tally of seven Top 10 albums; the most of any British rap act in UK chart history. 

But there’s still all to play for, as The Vaccines prove D-Block's biggest challenger. The sixth LP from Justin Hayward-Young, Árni Árnason, Timothy Lanham and Yoann Intonti, Pick-Up Full of Pink Carnations currently tracks to become their sixth consecutive Top 10 record (2), and highest-charting since 2015’s English Graffiti (2). The Vaccines also previously earned a Number 1 album with 2012’s Come of Age.

British-born, US-raised rap star 21 Savage’s third album American Dream, featuring collaborations with Travis Scott, Doja Cat and Burna Boy, could become his first-ever solo Top 10 entry on the Official Albums Chart this week (3). He reached Number 1 in 2022 with Her Loss, a collaboration album with Drake, while 2020’s Savage Mode II with Metro Boomin reached Number 10.  

Elsewhere in the Top 10, English singer-songwriter and former guitarist of The Coral, Bill Ryder-Jones, looks to secure his first solo Top 40 album with fifth LP Iechyd Da (‘good luck’ in Welsh), at Number 7 midweek. As a member of The Coral, Ryder-Jones reached Number 1 in the UK with 2003 album Magic and Medicine.  

As his single Lose Control continues to climb the Official Singles Chart, US singer Teddy Swims’ debut album I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 1) is predicted to reach its highest peak yet, up 13 places midweek at Number 11. 

Further down, we could also see brand-new entries from London-born rapper Unknown T’s Blood Diamond (26), potentially his third Top 40 collection, and Hampshire singer-songwriter Marika Hackman’s fourth studio release Big Sigh (28). 

Finally, British rock outfit Magnum hope to earn a 13th Top 40 LP with their 23rd studio collection Here Comes the Rain (29).
