Country Music Awards 2017: Pop invades as Pink and Niall Horan perform

It was a huge night at country music's biggest evening of the year.

The 51st annual Country Music Awards were held in Nashville last night (November 8), with invited pop artists also making their mark on the event.

The 2017 CMAs saw P!nk deliver a stunning performance of Barbies, a track from her latest album Beautiful Trauma. Co-penned by songwriter-of-the-moment Julia Michaels, the stripped back rendition was definitely not out of place among the other top performers on the night.

So just why was P!nk on the bill: "To make country music's biggest night even bigger," explained hosts Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood. Well they're not wrong. P!nk just scored the biggest US first-week sales of her career with album Beautiful Trauma, shifting over 400,000 albums in just seven days. Watch a clip below.

P!nk is no stranger to country music. Earlier this year, P!nk's duet with country star Kenny Chesney was nominated in the Best Country Duo/Group Performance category at the GRAMMY Awards, and was also up for Best Musical Event as last night's show.

Also on the night, pop/folk singer Niall Horan collaborated with rising country star Maren Morris on their duet Seeing Blind, which appears on Niall's latest album Flicker. Watch the two of them belt it out below:
