Brighton chart throb Conor Maynard is locked in a three-way chart battle with Maroon 5 and current chart toppers Florence And The Machine. But who will be Number 1?
Conor Maynard is on track to score this week’s highest new enty with new offering Vegas Girl (Number 3). Vegas Girl is the second single taken from forthcoming debut studio album Contrast, and will be the newcomer’s second Top 5 single to date. Conor rose to public consciousness after winning MTV’s Brand New For 2012 award earlier this year, his debut single Can’t Say No peaked at 2 in April.
Vegas Girl chases current non-movers Maroon 5’s Payphone (2) and the chart-topping Florence And The Machine’s Spectrum in the race for this week’s race for Number 1.
Stooshe are on course to climb one place from 5 to 4 in Black Heart’s sixth week on chart, while Flo Rida’s summer anthem, Whistle, rounds off the Top 5.
New entries
Led by Conor Maynard (3) there are five new entries in today’s Official Chart Update. US pop duo/engaged couple Karmin look set to score their debut UK Top 20 hit on Sunday with Brokenhearted (11), with French house DJ/producer Cedric Gervais at 26 with new track Molly.
Madeon brings the follow up to March’s chart debut Icarus, with Finale (28), while Warner signings Clement Marfo & The Frontline are looking at their first Top 40 hit in Champion (39).
The Official Chart Update's highest climber comes courtesy of Public Enemy’s Harder Than You Think, climbing 42 places to Number 29 after featuring in Channel 4’s Paralympics ad campaign.
