Coldplay will perform at the 2021 BRIT Awards
Coldplay have been announced to perform at the 2021 BRIT Awards.
Chris Martin, Will Champion, Guy Berryman and Jonny Buckland will open the ceremony on Tuesday May 11, performing on a pontoon outside of London's O2 Arena, home to the UK's biggest night in music.
The UK exclusive performance will follow the release of Coldplay's new single Higher Power, out Friday May 7. The track is their first to be produced by the acclaimed Max Martin.
Higher Power is a song that arrived on a little keyboard and a bathroom sink at the start of 2020. It was produced by Max Martin who is a true wonder of the universe. It’s out on Friday 7 May.

Opening the BRITs will mark the band's first televised performance in over a year since they performed Everyday Life on The Graham Norton Show in December 2019.
Coldplay are the most nominated band in BRIT Awards history, recognised 28 times since 2001, taking home nine trophies. Their 2021 appearance marks their first BRITs performance since teaming up with The Chainsmokers in 2017 for Something Just Like This. They also took to the stage in 2016, singing Hymn for the Weekend.
All eight of Coldplay's studio albums have reached Number 1 on the UK's Official Albums Chart, and they've scored two chart-topping singles Viva La Vida and Paradise. See all of Coldplay's hit songs and albums on their Official Chart history.
Also performing on the BRITs stage this year are fast-rising star Olivia Rodrigo, Rag'n'Bone Man & Pink, BRITs Rising Star winner Griff and two-time winner Dua Lipa, plus three-time nominee Arlo Parks and chart-topping rapper Headie One.
