Coldplay close Glastonbury 2016 with help from the Bee Gees - watch
Coldplay cemented their status as one of the world's greatest rock bands last night (June 26) as they closed this year's Glastonbury festival... with a little help from the Bee Gees.
The group kicked off their headline slot with A Head Full of Dreams, accompanied by a sky full of fireworks and confetti that continued for most of the 22-song set.

"We came here a little bit scared about the state of the world," frontman Chris Martin said after performing their 2000 breakthrough hit Yellow. "But to see the vibe of Glastonbury, it makes me feel like people are great and together we can do wonderful, wonderful things."

The band paid tribute to Muhammad Ali during Everglow, and performed a cover of Viola Beach's Boys That Sing as a mark of respect to the band following their tragic death earlier this year.

After leaving the stage after singing Adventure Of A Lifetime, the band returned for a seven-song encore aided by Bee Gees star Barry Gibb. The singer, who was forced to pull out of his "legend" slot this year due to a family illness, sang Bee Gees classics To Love Somebody and Stayin' Alive with the group, the latter of which Chris called "the greatest song of all time".
