The classical crossover quartet’s Rather Be FT Jess Glynne has beaten the likes of Avicii, Daft Punk and Bastille to become the longest running Number 1 on the Official Streaming Chart.
Congratulations to Clean Bandit whose track Rather Be is the UK’s most listened to track for a record eighth consecutive week. The track, which features Jess Glynne, has become the longest running Number 1 on the Official Streaming Chart.
The classical crossover group’s latest feat puts Avicii’s Wake Me Up, Daft Punk’s Get Lucky and Bastille’s Pompeii squarely into joint second place, each having spent seven weeks at Number 1 on the Official Streaming Chart.
Rather Be debuted at Number 11 on the Chart on January 20, before climbing to Number 1 the following week.
Not content with dominating the Official Streaming Chart, Rather Be also topped the sales-based Official Singles Chart, spending four weeks at Number 1 and becoming one of the biggest selling singles of 2014 so far. To date, it has sold more than 727,000 copies, according to Official Charts Company sales data.
Pharrell Williams’ Happy (Number 2) and Katy Perry’s Dark Horse FT Juicy J (3) are non-movers. Route 94’s My Love, which also features Jess Glynne, climbing two places to Number 4 to enter the Top 5, while Sam Smith’s Money On My Mind slides one place (5).
New Entries and High Climbers
There are five new entries in today’s Official Streaming Chart: Duke Dumont FT Jax Jones’ I Got U comes in at Number 38 after achieving the Number 1 spot in the Official Singles Chart on Sunday. Enrique Iglesias FT Pitbull’s I’m A Freak is Number 50, while Kylie Minogue is in at Number 71 with Into The Blue. Pixie Lott’s Nasty (79) and Christina Perri’s Human (92) complete this week’s new entries.
Avicii’s Addicted To You is the Official Streaming Chart’s highest climber this week, jumping 31 places from Number 63 to Number 32. Chainsmokers’ Selfie climbs from 41 to 21 and Neighbourhood’s Sweater Weather is up 13 places to Number 68.
