Clean Bandit and Louisa Johnson's Tears shoots to Number 1 on this week's Official Trending Chart
Clean Bandit have gone straight to the top of this week's Official Trending Chart with their brand new single Tears.
The first cut from their second studio album features X Factor winner Louisa Johnson, and is her first release since her winner's song Forever Young in December 2015.
At Number 5 on the Official Singles Chart Update, the track is set to become Clean Bandit's fifth Top 5 single following the Number 1 smash Rather Be and other hits Extraordinary, Real Love and Stronger.
Meanwhile, US singer-songwriter Gnash scales this week's trending Top 20, which tracks which new songs are making a big impact in the UK (full methodology below), as his track I Hate You, I Love You continues to build momentum - as does Kungs vs Cookin on 3 Burners' This Girl.
Elsewhere, following the release of Alice Through The Looking Glass last week, P!nk's theme song Just Like Fire moves up the Official Trending Chart. The song is also on course to hit a new peak on the Official Singles Chart Top 40 this Friday (June 3).
Finally, OneRepublic's Wherever I Go, Adele's Send My Love (To Your New Lover) and The Chainsmokers' Don't Let Me Down make strong entries on the trending tally; all are on track to enter the Top 40 for the first time this week.

About the Official Trending Chart
The Official Trending Chart is a brand new chart launched for 2016 to highlight the hottest new tracks beginning to make an impact in the UK every week.
The Top 20 rundown, published on OfficialCharts.com every Tuesday, based on the first four days’ sales of each chart week, is designed to highlight emerging hits as they begin to scale the Official Charts and build buzz.
The Official Trending Chart ranks titles which are showing week-on-week chart growth, and is the only “new music” chart to reflect audio track sales and streams comprehensively across all services.
Devised by the Official Charts Company in close consultation with labels, retailers and media, the chart since launch last month has already highlighted emerging hits such as Zara Larrsson’s Lush Life and Mike Posner’s I Took A Pill In Ibiza, both tracks went on to become Top 5 smashes in the Official Singles Chart.
The chart is designed to help highlight hit singles in their early stages of their growth, in the light of the shift in release strategies of record labels over the past six months. Under “On Air On Sale”, labels have started to release new music for consumers to buy or stream on the same day as those tracks are released to media (including radio stations and TV).
