Cheryl confirms new single Love Made Me Do It release date
The singer will make her return after a four-year break this week.
Cheryl has confirmed details of her new single, called Love Made Me Do It.
The track, released this Friday (November 9), is Cheryl's first release in four years and is her first on new label 3Beat/Universal. She's roped in her Girls Aloud bandmate Nicola Roberts for the song, co-writing the track together, while production comes courtesy of The Invisible Men. Listen to a teaser of the single here.
"It’s something that anyone who’s been in love will be able to relate to in some way or another," says Cheryl. “It’s catchy and it’s fun. It’s not about one specific person or relationship, it’s more about me being the lover of love that I am. I just love love!”
Cheryl's new label signing, she says, has given her more creative freedom with her new music, explaining there's been "no A&R, no legal, no head of label, no one.
"I just made the music from a really pure place, music simply for the love of it. I thought, if I don’t know what I’m doing by now, then I don’t know what I’m doing in this industry."
Cheryl is one of the most successful British female solo singers in chart history, with five Number 1 singles and two Number 1 albums. Look back over Cheryl's complete Official Chart history here.
