Cheat Codes x Kriss Kross Amsterdam's Sex hits Number 1 on the Official Trending Chart: "We're beyond grateful for its success"
The classic '90s track Let's Talk About Sex is back in a big way this week...
For some, the '90s anthem Let's Talk About Sex never went away, but for the rest of us, it's back in a big way this week.
The re-working of Salt-N-Pepa's classic by production trios Cheat Codes and Kriss Kross Amsterdam - now simply called Sex - is Number 1 on this week's Official Trending Chart, which reveals the songs making the biggest impact in the UK each week.
Already a hit across Europe, Sex has been steadily climbing the Official Singles Chart for the last seven weeks, and is on track for another climb this week, currently up three spots to Number 11. Click here to see Sex's full UK chart run.
"We're so excited to see how Sex is reacting around the world!" Kevi from Cheat Codes told OfficialCharts.com. "It's always been a dream for us to create music that we personally love and enjoy; and to see that the fans appreciate it and are supporting it as well is all we could ever ask for!
"We're beyond grateful for the success of the record and to everyone whose played a part in making this record get out there to the masses. We love the UK and can't wait to get out there to play some shows sooner rather than later."
Another big entry on this week's Official Trending Chart is Shawn Mendes' brand new single Treat You Better. A taster of what to expect from the Canadian's sophomore album, the song is on course to be the highest new entry on this week's Official Singles Chart.
Two more new songs released last Friday (June 3) that appear in this week's trending Top 20 are DJ Khaled and Drake's For Free and Mike Will Made-It and Rihanna's Nothing Is Promised. DJ Khaled's song on track to be his first headline UK Top 40 this Friday, while Mike Will Made-It's is currently hovering just outside at Number 50.
Another big entry on this week's Official Trending Chart comes from DJ Kenno. The track - called Will Grigg's On Fire - is adapted from a Wigan football chant by Sean Kennedy, and is in fact by production duo Blonde and singer Zak Abel, who have gone under the moniker in honour of Kennedy's contribution to the song. The track has been soaring in popularity over the last few days, leaping 25 places to Number 51 on the Official Singles Chart.
Further down, rising star Kiiara makes a strong entry with Gold (up 17 places to Number 65 over on the Official Singles Chart), and following her performance on Graham Norton last week, Alicia Keys' In Common enters the Official Trending Chart and looks set to hit the singles chart for the first time this week, currently at 68.

About the Official Trending Chart
The Official Trending Chart is a brand new chart launched for 2016 to highlight the hottest new tracks beginning to make an impact in the UK every week.
The Top 20 rundown, published on OfficialCharts.com every Tuesday, based on the first four days’ sales of each chart week, is designed to highlight emerging hits as they begin to scale the Official Charts and build buzz.
The Official Trending Chart ranks titles which are showing week-on-week chart growth, and is the only “new music” chart to reflect audio track sales and streams comprehensively across all services.
Devised by the Official Charts Company in close consultation with labels, retailers and media, the chart since launch last month has already highlighted emerging hits such as Zara Larrsson’s Lush Life and Mike Posner’s I Took A Pill In Ibiza, both tracks went on to become Top 5 smashes in the Official Singles Chart.
The chart is designed to help highlight hit singles in their early stages of their growth, in the light of the shift in release strategies of record labels over the past six months. Under “On Air On Sale”, labels have started to release new music for consumers to buy or stream on the same day as those tracks are released to media (including radio stations and TV).
