Charli xcx's BRAT catching up to Bon Jovi's Forever in UK Number 1 album race
It'll be a photo finish for BRAT and Forever this Friday
It's a chart battle that sees a US rock behemoth take on the UK's hyperpop pioneer, and it just got even closer.
All week, fans have been rallying behind Bon Jovi, who hope to earn a sixth chart-topping album with Forever, and Charli xcx, whose acclaimed LP BRAT is also in with a shot at clinching that coveted Number 1 spot.
And, in today's brand-new Official Albums Chart update, the numbers are unbelievably tight.
Like...ridiculously, preposterously, what-the-hell-is-gonna-happen tight.
While Bon Jovi remain in the lead currently, with their sixteenth studio record still tracking to reach the summit this Friday (June 14), Charli is very quickly catching up. More than halving the gap overnight, Charli's sixth album now sits fewer than 150 UK chart units behind Bon Jovi in today's sales flash.

This is thanks, in part, to Charli's strong streaming lead and the release of her oh-snappily-titled 'Brat and it's the same but there's three more songs so it's not' deluxe edition, which includes additional tracks 'Hello goodbye,' 'Guess' and 'Spring breakers'.
Should Bon Jovi maintain their lead, Forever will become their sixth chart-topping album in the UK. The group previously scored Number 1 records with 988’s New Jersey, 1992’s Keep The Faith, 1994 hits compilation Cross Road, 1995’s These Days and 2000 release Crush.

Charli has achieved one Number 1 LP to date, with CRASH having topped the Official Albums Chart in 2022. But, given today's figures, a second chart-topper's a strong possibility.
