She’s HOT TO GO! Chappell Roan celebrates her first-ever Official Number 1 album with The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess

The Missouri pop auteur – arguably 2024’s most organic success story – reaches the summit with her debut in its 17th week on chart, transcending from cult internet queen to the mainstream in a matter of months. Chappell dominates both this week’s UK Singles and Albums Chart.

Originally released in September 2023, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess’s ascent was bolstered this week thanks to its release on vinyl, with over half of its seven-day total made up of physical sales.

With its latest ‘Popstar Edition’ wax pressing, the LP tops this week’s Official Vinyl Albums Chart, the most popular release of the week on vinyl, and the Official Record Store Chart, the best-selling album of the week in UK independent record shops.

‘BRAT summer’ reaches fever pitch, as Charli xcx’s Mercury Prize-nominated BRAT jumps back to its previous Number 2 peak this week. With the country in the grips of the green-hazed lifestyle, could it be a future chart-topper?

Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign secure this week’s highest new entry, with VULTURES 2 landing at Number 7. The record serves as the follow-up to their first collaborative record, VULTURES, which peaked at Number 2 back in February.

With the release of a 10th anniversary edition, Sam Smith’s In The Lonely Hour vaults back into the Top 40, up 76 spots to Number 32. Their 2014 debut entered straight in at Number 1 on its original release, going on to spent eight non-consecutive weeks at the summit.

And finally, former White Stripes frontman Jack White nets his seventh solo Top 40 LP with No Name (33).

Previously, White saw similar success with 2012’s Blunderbuss (1), 2014’s Lazaretto (4), 2016’s Acoustic Recordings – 1998-2016 (12), 2018 release Boarding House Reach (5) and 2022 LPs Fear of the Dawn (3) and Entering Heaven Alive (4).
