Chappell Roan still dancing at the Pink Pony Club for second week at Number 1

Despite some tough competition from Lady Gaga, Chappell's first UK Number 1 is still dancing for a second week.

Chappell Roan isn’t going anywhere – Pink Pony Club keeps dancing for a second week at Number 1 in the UK.

The epic synth-pop tune became Chappell’s first-ever UK chart-topper last week, and fends off competition from both Alex Warren and pop queen Lady Gaga to remain at the top of the Official Singles Chart.

Pink Pony Club’s success happens just as Chappell releases her first new single in a year, The Giver, today – could Chappell replace herself at Number 1 next week? Stranger things have happened!

Rising US singer-songwriter Alex Warren reaches new heights today – Ordinary lifts one to a new peak of Number 2, meaning Warren also positions himself neatly as Chappell’s closest competition for next week too.

Following the release of MAYHEM, Lady Gaga’s chaotic Abracadabra casts its spell to vault up three places to Number 3. MAYHEM also gifts Die With A Smile with Bruno Mars a lift back into the Top 20 this week, up four (18), while new track Garden of Eden debuts at Number 23, becoming Gaga’s 32nd UK Top 40 hit.

Doechii secures this week’s highest new entry with Anxiety debuting at Number 4. It becomes the Florida rapper and singer’s second UK Top 10 single in less than three months, her highest-ever debut and first Top 5. The track – which contains a heavy sample of Gotye and Kimbra’s 2011 UK Number 1 single Somebody That You Used To Know – was originally released on YouTube in 2019, before a viral trend necessitated its official release last week. Doechii’s vocal sample from Anxiety also features on Sleepy Hallow collab A N X I E T Y (16).

As Sabrina Carpenter dazzles the UK as her Short N’ Sweet tour arrives on our shores, several tracks from her sixth studio album receive boosts today; Busy Woman is up four to a brand new peak (8), re-entering the Top 10 for a second week, Bed Chem flutters up six (13) and former Number 1 Please Please Please sashays up four (14).

Benson Boone’s latest track Sorry I’m Here For Someone Else struts to a new peak of Number 25, up five week-on-week, while acclaimed R&B savant Ravyn Lenae’s breakthrough hit Love Me Not hits Number 27, a lift of 11 from last week.

BLACKPINK star JENNIE claims a fifth UK Top 40 single with Like Jennie debuting at Number 36. With this, JENNIE furthers her record as the BLACKPINK member with the most UK Top 40 solo entries.

Finally, Sonny Fodera and Clementine Douglas see Tell Me enter the Top 40 for the first time, up five places to Number 39. It marks Fodera’s fourth Top 40 single and Douglas’ third.

Your thumbnails have never been good, but by golly, this one really takes the cake. Last week we all sat down and thought 'this is awful, but it can't get any worse than this right?' Well no, it could, and it did. Hence this terrible work of art. Licensing, low pay, a rush to get these out... idk what the issue is but please fix it. It's ugly to look at! Terrible design. You can't remove the background of the already low-quality image you used properly, and then paste it over a terribly bland black background which doesn't fit either the original image or the OCC aesthetic. It's just shoddy. Not even two artists appear on this one. I don't even want to click on this article. But it was so bad I'd hit my breaking point and I had to let you guys know. Fix your stuff. Do better. No one likes you. Slizzy slatt

Glad to see 'Pink Pony Club' hold on for another week. Not really a fan of 'Ordinary' sadly.

I absolutely love that 'Abracadabra' is back at its peak and especially that 'Anxiety' is in the Top 5!
