Can Plan B take back Number 1 album from Conor Maynard?
According to today’s Official Chart Update, Plan B’s Ill Manors could return to the top of the Official Albums Chart this weekend.
The London-born rapper / singer songwriter’s third album, and soundtrack to his crime drama film of the same name, was knocked off the top spot on Sunday by 19 year old Conor Maynard’s debut album Contrast. Today Contrast slips into fifth place, behind Emeli Sande’s Our Version Of Events (Number 2), Maroon 5’s Overexposed (3) and Rihanna’s Talk That Talk (4).
However, with less than 600 copies separating the Number 5 and the Number 1 album at the mid-way stage, there’s still everything to play for.
New Releases and High Climbers
There is just one new entry in today’s Official Albums Chart Update Top 40, courtesy of Antony And The Johnsons. The band’s new live album, Cut The World, which was recorded in Copenhagen last September accompanied by the Danish National Chamber Orchestra, looks set to debut at Number 27 on Sunday.
This week’s highest climber is Paloma Faith’s Fall To Grace, up ten places from Number 16 to Number 6, while signature Olympics soundtrack Chariots Of Fire helps composer Vangelis’ Greatest Hits album, The Collection, climb eight places to re-enter the Top 40 at Number 38.
