Can One Direction topple Meghan Trainor from the Number 1 spot?
One Direction will be hoping to steal the Number 1 spot from Meghan Trainor on this week’s Official Singles Chart.
The group’s latest track Steal My Girl is at Number 2 on today’s Official Chart Update, close behind Meghan’s All About That Bass, which is currently on course to spend a third week at the top.
If she manages to hold on until Sunday, Meghan will have the second-longest running Number 1 of 2014 behind Clean Bandit’s Rather Be, which spent four consecutive weeks at the chart summit in January and February.
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off lifts a spot to Number 3 midweek, and Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj’s Bang Bang is at Number 4.
Rounding off the Top 5 are The Vamps, who vault 46 to 5 with Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart). The re-working of the Simon & Garfunkel classic marks the fifth single from their debut album Meet The Vamps and has been reworked for its single release featuring guest vocals from rising Canadian singer Shawn Mendes.
New entries
Eminem is on track for this week’s second-highest new entry at Number 6 with Guts Over Fear. The track - featuring and co-written by Sia - heads up a new compilation from the rapper called Shady XV; an album celebrating 15 years of the rapper’s Shady Records that features a selection of artists signed to the label.
French DJ Watermat is new in at Number 9 this week with Bullit, and British drum and bass producer Wilkinson enters at 13 with Dirty Love.

Further down the chart, Jamaican-born Krishane is on course to enter the Top 20 this weekend with his debut single Drunk And Incapable. The song features vocals from Melissa Steel, who recently scored a Top 10 hit with her debut Kisses For Breakfast.
