Camila Cabello set for this week’s highest new entry on the Official Albums Chart
Black Veil Brides, Leo Sayer and Tonight Alive are also heading for the Top 40.
Camila Cabello is on track to bag this week’s highest new entry on the Official Albums Chart.
The singer’s self-titled debut is currently at Number 2 on today’s Official Chart Update, behind The Greatest Showman soundtrack. Featuring Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron and Michelle Williams, the album reached Number 1 last week and currently leads this week’s chart by 5,000 combined chart sales.
Meanwhile, Camila’s album – featuring five-week Number 1 smash Havana – could become her highest-charting album in the UK. She previously reached a high of Number 6 with Fifth Harmony on 2016’s 7/27.
New entries and high climbers
Also on course for their highest charting album yet are US rockers Black Veil Brides, who open at Number 10 with their fifth record Vale, while Scottish punk rock group The Skids, who have not released an album since 1981, look to impact the Top 20 with Burning Cities, their first album in over 37 years, at Number 13.
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club are racing towards a sixth UK Top 40 album with Wrong Creatures (16), American guitarist Joe Satriani could also earn his sixth Top 40 entry this Friday with What Happens Next (17), and Leo Sayer’s The Gold Collection is at Number 21.
Songs of Praise, the debut album from post-punk act Shame is new at Number 25, and one slot behind them are Australian rockers Tonight Alive; Underworld (26) could become their third UK Top 40 record this week.
Finally, heavy metal band Corrosion of Conformity sit at Number 38 with No Cross No Crown, which could be their first UK Top 40 album since 1996.

The Camila Cabello album is so-so average. 'Havana' sticks out like a sore thumb! The entire album is mid-paced (or slower!) - and at only ten songs and only 33 minutes long (plus a Bonus(!) track of ANOTHER (almost identical) version of 'Never Be The Same' tacked on the end) it's a bit poor. Doesn't even contain her debut single (Crying In The Club). If this album had been released 6 weeks ago it would have struggled to go Top 10 and her record label knows it - That's why it was released in the slowest week in the year for music. Sales figures for Camila? Less than 20,000?? in a country containing nearly 67 million people?
I Am A Stegosaurus
Never mind Camila at #2, god, please keep Black Veil Brides OUT the top 10!

Aw... I like 'The Greatest Showman', but I really wish Camila was set to debut at #1, as I've been become obsessed with her album over the weekend & I feel like she deserves to top the albums chart.
Even then, I'm still really pleased for her getting the runner-up spot & at least she dominated singles chart with 'Havana' recently & even though the update says different, I think 'Never Be The Same' might be in with a shot at the Top 10 on Friday which is cool! :)

I'm honestly really confused as to how 'Never Be The Same' isn't in the Top 10 in the update. It's had a run of 5-6-5 on Spotify over the past 3 days, and has fluctuated between #5 and #9 on iTunes.
I was also really hoping that 'Camila' was set to debut at the top, but I did have a feeling that 'The Greatest Showman' would block it.
At least 'River' looks set to finally get to #1 though!
I also think that 'She Loves Control' could be in with a chance of a Top 75 debut next week, and possibly even a Top 50 or maybe even Top 40, though I don't want to be too optimistic. It's still in the Top 50 on Spotify, and is actually up a place today to #47.
EDIT: Apparently the Spotify data for the past 3 days is missing and isn't included in the update, and to be honest that would really make sense. The chart much more closely resembles the iTunes chart over the past few days rather than a blend of iTunes and Spotify like it usually looks like. It does look like it still includes Apple Music though, which explains why 'Barking' isn't set for a massive hit, which it would be if it were only sales data.

You know what, I actually sent a comment on Calum a minute ago saying the same thing about 'Never Be The Same'.
That would also explain why 'Strangers' is predicted to be in the Top 10, while despite it being at #4 on ITunes (when I last checked it this morning), but only debuted on Spotify yesterday at #190! It also tells us why 'All These Years' is the third 'Camila' track charting instead of 'She Loves Control'.
That said, I wonder if The Cranberries would be able to get any songs inside the Top 100 following Dolores' passing.

If the Spotify data is missing, will it be updated and included by the end of the week?
I had noticed a big drop on the daily global streams for artists, and wondered what had happened

Yeah, I think that 'Never Be The Same' will definitely be in the Top 10 come Friday, at least if they actually manage to get the Spotify data for the missing days and the rest of the week. It's up to a new peak today of #4 on Spotify!
I also think that 'She Loves Control' does have a decent shot at Top 40 now. It's up again to #42 on Spotify today, and I actually think it will climb throughout the week. 'She Loves Control' seems to be going through the same effects as all of Camila's other singles, but in a much shorter timespan, and with some slight differences. At least on Spotify, it debuted in a fairly decent position, then dropped off quite a bit, and is now climbing back up again. The difference being that 'She Loves Control' debuted slightly higher that some of Camila's other singles, and didn't really drop off as much.
The Cranberries with definitely have songs in the Top 100. I wouldn't even be surprised to see them with their allotted 3 songs all in the Top 40. One look at the iTunes charts shows that 'Zombie' and 'Linger' are giving 'River' a serious run for its money, at least when you combine the two versions of each (since both songs chart twice in the Top 25, for some reason).

I sure hope so. If it isn't then it can hardly be called an accurate chart.
