Calvin Harris to keep Kylie off the top of the Official Albums Chart
Calvin Harris looks set to keep Kylie Minogue off the top of the Official Albums Chart this weekend, according to today’s Official Albums Chart Update.
The Scottish DJ and producer’s third album, 18 Months (1), which features previous chart topping singles We Found Love FT Rihanna and Sweet Nothing FT Florence Welch, is currently outselling Kylie Minogue’s The Abbey Road Sessions (2) by 5,000 copies at this mid way stage. If Harris can maintain his lead through to Sunday’s final whistle, it will be his second Number 1 album (his second album, Ready For The Weekend, hit the top spot in 2009).
As part of her 25th anniversary celebrations, Kylie Minogue has re-recorded and re-worked some of her biggest hits. Speaking to OfficialCharts.com last week, Kylie said:
"There's really interesting versions of all sorts of songs, from Can't Get You Out Of My Head to The Locomotion. Never Too Late is just performed with the piano and is achingly beautiful, which you wouldn’t expect from the original ‘80s version. We've pretty much taken The Locomotion back full circle and it sounds like a '60s track. I'm so proud of the album!"

Emeli Sande’s Our Version Of Events is down one place to Number 3, while Fun.’s Some Nights climbs 29 places to Number 4 following their performance on the X Factor on Sunday. Reigning chart queen Taylor Swift’s Red (5) completes this week’s Top 5.
