Calum Scott on BRIT Awards nomination with Lost Frequencies: "We're against Encanto, for God's sake!"
Can Calum and Lost Frequencies' banger Where Are You Now bag a BRIT this weekend?
It was officially one of 2022's biggest songs in the UK, boasting in excess of 140 million streams to date; and now Lost Frequencies and Calum Scott's Where Are You Now is only up for a bloomin' BRIT Award.
Yep - Belgian producer Felix De Laet and Calum are nominated for Best International Song at the 2023 ceremony, taking place at London's The O2 this Saturday February 11.
So, as Calum finds himself nominated alongside the likes of Taylor Swift, Lizzo and actual Beyoncé, we thought we'd check in to see just how he's feeling ahead of music's biggest bash.

Chatting exclusively to OfficialCharts.com, Calum said: "To be nominated is mad! It's a massive honour to be nominated again. Even having been nominated once before for Dancing On My Own [in 2017] was enough.
"That nod from the industry, having been a little boy watching the BRITs when the Spice Girls performed, is enough. It's also great to be nominated in a different genre this time; it's so eye-opening and makes me think I might be more versatile than I give myself credit for.
"I'm very excited, very happy. We're up against the big leagues, so I don't know if we'll win it, but being there amongst the atmosphere will be amazing.
"I'm just so in awe of everybody in the category I'm in: OneRepublic, Lizzo, Taylor Swift...Encanto, for God's sake! But to be in the race is an honour."

"If I think about it and go back to being a Hull lad, watching the BRITs all the way up north; to have been nominated twice in two different genres I feel like I've achieved a lot."
You're not wrong, Calum.
So, how will he celebrate if he wins? "If we were to win, it'd just be a case of enjoying the moment. With Felix there, too; we've had such a journey with this song. We'd pop a bottle of champagne and see the song off with a BRIT Award!"
Calum's brand-new single Whistle with Jax Jones is released Friday 10 February.
The BRIT Awards 2023 with Mastercard take place on Saturday February 11 2023, broadcast live on ITV and ITVX from London's The O2.
