BTS announce 10th anniversary single Take Two
K-pop superstars BTS have announced a new single to mark their 10th anniversary as a chart-conquering band.
Titled Take Two, the song will drop on June 9, a few days ahead of the 10-year milestone. The group's debut single 2 Cool 4 Skool was released on June 12, 2013.
The single comes as a very welcome surprise to fans, since BTS announced a hiatus in June 2022, taking the first extended break of their incredibly successful career. Two group members, Jin and J-Hope, are currently undertaking mandatory military service at home in South Korea.
In a statement, the band's management company Big Hit Entertainment confirmed that all seven band members – Jin and J-Hope, plus Jimin, Jungkook, RM, SUGA and V – have contributed to the writing and production of Take Two.

Rather sweetly, the anniversary single is being billed as a "gift" to the group's famously loyal fanbase, ARMY.
Big Hit Entertainment said in a statement: "We sincerely express our gratitude to ARMY for making the 10th anniversary possible with your endless love for BTS, and we hope that Take Two will become a precious 'Gift' from BTS to you all. We ask for your love and support for Take Two."
Over on Twitter, there is no doubt that this "gift" is already being rapturously received. In fact, ARMY leaders are already rallying the troops to ensure that Take Two follows previous BTS bangers like Dynamite (Number 3 in 2020) and Butter (Number 3 in 2021) into the chart’s upper reaches. The band have scored 20 UK Top 75 hits since they first cracked the Official Singles Chart in 2017.
