Britney Spears insists "I'll never return to music"
Britney Spears has responded to responded to reports she's to record a new album, insisting she'll 'never return' to the music industry.
While some US reports had claimed Britney was scouting songwriters for a 10th studio album, Britney's branded the rumours 'trash;' dashing fans' hopes of new material in the process.

Taking to Instagram, Britney explained: "Just so we’re clear most of the news is trash !!! They keep saying I’m turning to random people to do a new album … I will never return to the music industry !!!"
But, while we shouldn't expect any new music credited to Britney, the star's revealed she's working as a 'ghostwriter' for other artists.
"When I write, I write for fun or I write for other people !!!," Britney added. "For those of you who have read my book, there’s loads that you don’t know about me … I’ve written over 20 songs for other people the past two years !!!
"I’m a ghostwriter and I honestly enjoy it that way !!! People are also saying MY BOOK WAS RELEASED WITHOUT MY APPROVAL ILLEGALLY and that’s far from the truth … have you read the news these days ??? I’m so LOVED and blessed !!!"

Britney's last official release was 2023's will.i.am collaboration MIND YOUR BUSINESS. Her last Official Singles Chart appearance came courtesy of Elton John team-up Hold Me Closer, which peaked at Number 3 on its release in 2022.
To date, 2016's Glory remains Britney's most recent studio album. The Number 2-peaking record housed the singles Make Me... ft. G-Eazy and Slumber Party ft. Tinashe.
With six UK Number 1 singles, 31 Top 40 tracks and eight Top 10 albums to her name, could this really be the end of Britney's musical career?
