Britain's Got Talent's Richard And Adam spend second week on top

Britain's Got Talent brothers top the Official Albums Chart for a second consecutive week with The Impossible Dream.

The public’s support for Richard and Adam Johnson shows no sign of letting up as the Britain’s Got Talent duospend a second week at Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart.

The brothers from Holywell, North Wales, knocked X Factor star Jahmene Douglas off the top spot last Sunday with their debut full-length, The Impossible Dream. Today Richard and Adam retain their crown, outselling their closest competitors, Grammy award-winning US duo The Civil Wars, by a cool 15,000 copies.

The Civil Wars score this week’s highest new entry with their eponymous second full-length new in at Number 2. The album, which was co-produced by Rick Rubin (Adele / Red Hot Chili Peppers / Kanye West), is the pair’s highest charting UK album to date; their 2011 debut, Barton Hollow, peaked at Number 13.

Imagine Dragons surge seven places from Number 10 to Number 3 with Night Visions, while Passenger’s All The Little Lights (Number 4) and Jahmene Douglas’ Love Never Fails (5) complete this week’s Top 5.

New Entries

In addition to The Civil Wars (Number 2), there are three other new entries on today’s Official Albums Chart.

Example’s new Best Of collection, #Hits, narrowly misses out on a Top 10 placing, entering at Number 11 today. The 16-track album includes the London MC’s chart-topping singles Changed The Way You Kissed Me and Stay Awake.

Birmingham indie rockers Swim Deep make their Official Albums Chart debut at Number 20 with their first album, Where The Heaven Are We, while York metallers Asking Alexandria score their highest charting UK album to date From Death To Destiny (28).
