Britain’s Got Talent finalists Richard And Adam Johnson have fought off tough competition from the likes of Rudimental, Travis and John Mayer to hold onto the Number 1 spot on the Official Albums Chart for a fourth week in a row.
The Impossible Dream, the brother’s debut album, has now overtaken US star Justin Timberlake’s The 20/20 Experience to score the most consecutive weeks at Number 1 this year. The album is now tied with The Motion Picture Cast Recording of Tom Hooper’s big screen adaptation Les Miserables, for the most overall weeks at Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart this year; Les Miserables notched up two runs of two weeks at Number 1 on the chart back in January and February.
East London collective Rudimental narrowly missed out on reclaiming the top spot today with their album, Home (Number 2), by just over 2,000 copies. Home topped the Official Albums Chart in April and features the Number 1 hits Feel The Love FT John Newman and Waiting All Night FT Ella Eyre.
Travis are new in at Number 3 today with Where You Stand; their first new material in almost five years. It’s the Scottish band’s seventh Top 10 to date. Meanwhile, US singer / songwriter John Mayer scores his second UK Top 10 album today with Paradise Valley (4). The album features a collaboration with Mayer’s current girlfriend, Katy Perry, entitled Who You Love.
Stereophonics complete this week’s Official Albums Chart Top 5 with Graffiti On The Train, which surges 16 places to Number 5 following their appearance at last weekend's V Festival.
New Entries and High Climbers
In addition to Travis’ Where You Are (Number 3) and John Mayer’s Paradise Valley (4), there are two other new entries on this week’s Official Albums Chart.
