The nominations for the 2023 BRIT Awards have been revealed, with Fred again.., Wet Leg and Harry Styles leading the pack this year.
Celebrating the best of British music, Mo Gilligan will host the biggest night in the pop calendar on Saturday February 11 live from London's O2 Arena.
Leading this year's nominees are Wet Leg and Harry Styles with four nods, plus producer Fred again.. and The 1975; all with three nominations each.
This year's nominees were announced by BBC Radio 1's The Official Chart Show host Jack Saunders and Vick Hope on The BRITs Are Coming; broadcast across the BRITs' official social channels. The first of this year's performers were also revealed, with Sam Smith and Kim Petras and Wet Leg confirmed to play the ceremony.

also! how is merry christmas nominated when that’s literally a holiday song, nothing more? that surprised me the most, especially when every soty nomination was all-year-round music. another surprise: i mean no harm to dua lipa, she’s one of the best pop artists of this generation, but she didn’t even release anything in 2022 other than features on potion and sweetest pie.
(i know i may seem a bit negative about this, but i’m just… surprised. i’m looking forward to watching this like i do every year and with mo gilligan hosting again, it’ll be banging. may the best act win)

i know most of these seem really unlikely but the brits to me seems like a popularity contest nowadays. 2022 was amazing for music (the rap music especially was f*cking great) but mainstream music this year has not been the best. the fact that bad boy chiller crew (all three of them are bottom 3 rappers of all time) are in the same category as wet leg is just stupid. that being said, i hope mimi webb and george ezra go home with nothing and i’ll be happy! best of luck to all of them :)
