As for a rundown on the nominees...
Bree Runway
Hailing from East London, Bree Runway's dedication to bringing back a very specific kind of pop star into the national focus has been seen as a labour of love for many pop fans. Her music is energetic and joyous, while her pop star persona is one of complete and utter confidence and control.
Essential Track: Her version of Babylon from Lady Gaga's Chromatica remix LP
Holly Humberstone
Already getting co-signs from the likes of Lewis Capaldi and Matty Healy from the 1975, alt-pop prodigy Holly Humberstone makes music that's inspired by some of pop's most intelligent voices, such as Frank Ocean, Lorde and Phoebe Bridgers. Just this month, she released a new EP, The Walls Are Way Too Thin.
Essential Track: The Walls Are Way Too Thin, about her horrible experience of first moving to London
Lola Young
Lola Young's voice will be very recognisable to anyone whose had access to the internet or TV for the past few weeks, thanks to her cover of Together In Electric Dreams becoming the soundtrack for this year's John Lewis Christmas advert. As an alumnus of the BRIT School, Lola also has the careers of Leona Lewis, Adele and Amy Winehouse to look to for inspiration. She's currently in the studio preparing new material with Adele's frequent collaborator Paul Epworth.

The 2022 BRIT Awards hit ITV and the ITV Hub on February 8, where they'll include four new genre awards, and genderless categories for the first time ever.
The nominations for the ceremony will be announced by Clara Amfo and Maya Jama next month, featuring performances by Joel Corry and Glass Animals.
