Blink-182 speeding towards first UK Number 1 album with California
Blink-182 are on course to hit Number 1 in the Official Albums Chart for the very first time.
The Rock trio's seventh studio album California - the first to feature vocalist Matt Skiba replacing Tom Delonge - has amassed 17,000 combined chart sales at the midweek stage, outselling the rest of the Top 3 combined.

Blink's previous peak position was Number 4 when Take Off Your Pants and Jacket was released in 2001. Should California hold on and achieve a Top 10 placing, it'll be the band's fourth following the aforementioned new album, 2005's Greatest Hits and 2011's Neighborhoods.
The Californian rockers are the only new entry in this week's Top 5, which is made up of acts who have experienced live show uplifts. Coldplay, Adele and ELO are at 2, 3 and 4 respectively as they continue to ride Glastonbury's wave of momentum, and Beyoncé stays static at 5 with Lemonade as her Formation World Tour continues in the UK.
