BLACKPINK's Jennie is working on new solo music
Her first and only previous solo single, the aptly titled Solo, charted back in 2018
This is not a drill: BLACKPINK star Jennie has revealed that she is working on new solo music.
Jennie's only previous solo single – the aptly titled Solo – dropped in 2018 and peaked at Number 78 on the Official Singles Chart. She performed another solo song, You & Me, on BLACKPINK's recent Born Pink World Tour, though this track has yet to be released.
Jennie also teamed with The Weeknd and Lily Rose-Depp for this year’s collaborative track One of the Girls, which featured on the soundtrack of The Idol, an HBO show that Jennie had a supporting role in.
Discussing her new solo music in an interview with Harper's Bazaar Korea: Jennie said enigmatically: “I’m making a song that’s by Jennie, the most Jennie and something unique that is only Jennie’s.”
Back in April, Jennie’s bandmate Jisoo became the first BLACKPINK member to score a solo Top 40 hit on the Official Singles Chart when FLOWER peaked at Number 38. Jennie's bandmate Rosé previously came close in 2021 when she reached Number 43 with On the Ground.

The fourth member of BLACKPINK, Lisa, placed two solo songs on the Official Singles Chart in 2021: LaLisa (Number 58) and Money (Number 46). As a group, BLACKPINK made history in 2022 by becoming the first K-pop girl-group to score a Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart. When their Born Pink album debuted in the top spot last September, it improved on the Number 2 peak of their previous LP, 2020’s The Album.
