Bingo Players score debut Number 1 single
Will.I.Am and Britney are knocked off the top of the charts by Dutch dance duo Bingo Players (FT Far East Movement) and a gang of violent poultry.
Full house! There’s a quacking new Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart, as Will.I.Am and Britney are knocked off the top of the charts by Dutch dance duo Bingo Players (FT Far East Movement) and a gang of violent poultry.
Assisted by one of the most peculiar music video of the year, Get Up (Rattle) didn’t break into the Top 40 in their native Holland, but has become the duo’s first UK Number 1 single. Rumours of vengeful ducks forcing the record-buying public to hit ‘download’ are as yet sadly unconfirmed.
"We are so excited to have our first Number 1 record in the UK!,” The Bingo Players tell OfficialCharts.com. “Growing up in the Netherlands, we have always watched the UK charts as a great indicator of what's to come next and really admired and looked up to great British dance artists and producers like The Prodigy and The KLF. Now to be among those ranks means the world to us! We couldn't have done it without the support of our fans, so we have to give them a shout out and thank them for their support through the years."
Brit.I.Am are relegated to Number 2 on this week’s Official Singles Chart, while the success of Taylor Swift’s pop-crossover continues as I Knew You Were Trouble climbs one to Number 3 in its 16th week on the chart.
Rihanna FT Mikky Ekko is at Number 4 with Stay, while Calvin Harris FT Tinie Tempah completes this week’s Official Singles Chart Top 5 with Drinking From The Bottle.
New Entries And Highest Climbers
In addition to Bingo Players FT Far East Movement there are three new entries on this week’s Official Singles Chart.
Amelia Lily just misses out of The Official Singles Chart Top 10 as her second single Shut Up (And Give Me Whatever You Got) finishes the week at Number 11. Amelia’s first single, You Bring Me Joy peaked at Number 2 last year.
Further down the list, Ellie Goulding is at Number 33 with Explosions, whilst Change Your Life, the new single by Little Mix is at Number 36.
Having shot to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 this week, hip-hop duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ ode to inexpensive clothing Thrift Shop is this week’s highest climber, rocketing 57 places to Number 24.
