Beyoncé announces release of RENAISSANCE Act II, drops two new songs
Giddy up, girls. Beyoncé is coming...again.
While most of the UK was sleeping, Beyoncé had some very exciting announcements to make while the Super Bowl was playing Stateside. Not only did she announce the release of RENAISSANCE Act II, but she also dropped two brand new songs, TEXAS HOLD 'EM and 16 CARRIAGES.
And if you haven't already guessed by the picture we've attached to this article or the cover art for both singles, it seems that Beyoncé will be letting the country roads take her home! Yes, Act II will now almost definitely be a country-influenced record.
The follow-up to Beyoncé's Number 1 2022 record RENAISSANCE will be released on March 29 2024 via Parkwood/Columbia.
LISTEN to Beyoncé's new songs TEXAS HOLD 'EM and 16 CARRIAGES now:
As for what the new songs sound like? TEXAS HOLD 'EM (named after the card game of the same name, naturally) takes the swagger and braggadocios vibes from Lemonade's own country-facing single, Daddy Lessons, while 16 CARRIAGES is a quietly-gorgeous country ballad, very Kacey Musgraves and Dolly Parton, which sees Beyoncé muster the strength to look back at where she's come from...and just quite how far she's got to go.
Meanwhile, the first act of Renaissance needs to introduction; released in 2022, it became Beyoncé's fourth UK Number 1 album and was a brain-storming, luxurious exploration into diva house and queer ball room culture.
Act II arrives after Bey has wrapped up her RENAISSANCE world tour...but could this new arrival mean that she's about to go back on the road again?
Beyoncé's Act II will drop March 29 via Parkwood/Columbia. TEXAS HOLD 'EM and 16 CARRIAGES are out now.
