BBC Sound Of: Every winner from 50 Cent to Chappell Roan
Other previous winners include Adele, Sam Smith, Michael Kiwanuka and FLO.
It's Official - Chappell Roan has been named as the BBC Sound Of...2025 winner.
Since 2003, the BBC has published an annual Sound Of list spotlighting rising stars from the music world. The accolade is given to up-and-coming artists with "the best chance of mainstream success" in the next 12 months, and past winners include Adele, Sam Smith and 50 Cent, so the poll has an impressive track record.
The kinetic US pop star takes this year's crown after an awe-inducing breakthrough last year; where she hit Number 2 on the Official Singles Chart with sapphic synth-pop lament Good Luck, Babe! and her 2023 debut LP The Rise and Fall Of A Midwest Princess became her first UK Number 1 album, almost a year after its original release.
This year's longlist was announced in November and includes 11 artists from the UK and beyond: Barry Can’t Swim, Chappell Roan, Confidence Man, Doechii, English Teacher, Ezra Collective, Good Neighbours, KNEECAP, Mk.gee, Myles Smith and Pozer.
The Top 5 in total was; English Teacher, last year's Mercury Prize Winners (5), BRITs Rising Star winner Myles Smith (4), Barry Can't Swim (3) and Ezra Collective (2).
