Good Grief! Bastille have topped this week's Official Trending Chart.

Good Grief - the lead single from the bands' second studio album Wild World - tops the list of songs making a big impact in the UK this week, based on their movement up this week's Official Singles Chart (full methodology below):

Good Grief has so far peaked at Number 15 on the Official Singles Chart, but a midweek position of 14 shows its upward trend has not stopped just yet. Can it peak even higher come Friday's Official Chart (August 5)?

Bastille make a second entry further down this week's Official Trending Chart with Fake It, a track released last week in anticipation of Wild World on September 9.

Also making waves is international talent MØ. Currently featuring on Major Lazer's Number 1 single Cold Water alongside Justin Bieber (making her the first first female soloist from Denmark to achieve a Number 1 single since Whigfield in 1994 with Saturday Night), her latest solo outing Final Song is up two places on the Official Singles Chart Update.

Meanwhile, French singer-songwriter Christine and the Queens continues to make a big impact with Tilted, set to hit the Official Singles Chart Top 20 for the first time this week. Similarly, newcomer Anne-Marie sees her breakthrough single Alarm scaling the Top 40.

Other acts making a big impact in the UK this week are twenty one pilots with their latest effort Heathens, and All In My Head (Flex) from Fifth Harmony. Both are set to make significant gains on this week's Official Chart, with Fifth Harmony's track on course to hit the Top 40 for the first time.

About the Official Trending Chart

The Official Trending Chart is a brand new chart launched for 2016 to highlight the hottest new tracks beginning to make an impact in the UK every week.

The Top 20 rundown, published on OfficialCharts.com every Tuesday, based on the first four days’ sales of each chart week, is designed to highlight emerging hits as they begin to scale the Official Charts and build buzz.

The Official Trending Chart ranks titles which are showing week-on-week chart growth, and is the only “new music” chart to reflect audio track sales and streams comprehensively across all services.

Devised by the Official Charts Company in close consultation with labels, retailers and media, the chart since launch has already highlighted emerging hits such as Number 1 singles Mike Posner’s I Took A Pill In Ibiza and Drake's One Dance.

The chart is designed to help highlight hit singles in their early stages of their growth, in the light of the shift in release strategies of record labels over the past six months. Under “On Air On Sale”, labels have started to release new music for consumers to buy or stream on the same day as those tracks are released to media (including radio stations and TV).
