Bastille are trekking all the way to Number 1 with their second studio album Wild World on this week’s Official Albums Chart.

Featuring the Top 20 single Good Grief and promotional tracks Fake It and Send Them Off!, Wild World leads the way, 7,500 combined sales ahead of their nearest rival at the mid-week stage. Should it keep its position until Friday’s Official Chart, it'll be the band's second Number 1 album following their debut Bad Blood in 2013.

New at Number 2 is Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds' sixteenth studio album Skeleton Tree. The Australian alt-rock collective has scored three UK Top 10 albums in the past - 1996's Murder Ballads (8), 2008 collection Dig Lazarus Dig (4) and 2013's Push The Sky Away (3). Congrats to Devin Townsend. His first top 20 entry in the UK. Sony will want to sign him up on their main label now, not just distribute it :( ;)

All new top 5? In the singles chart that's about as rare as a hole-in-one in golf.

Finally, a deserving number 1 album in the midst instead of all these silly country acts or random nobodies. Speaking of deserving acts, when is Green Day's new album coming out?

Wild World is a brilliant album, an amazing follow up to Bad Blood, very deserving of the No.1 spot.
