It’s the battle of the bands on this week’s Official Albums Chart Update, with Bastille’s debut album Bad Blood going head-to-head with Stereophonics' Graffiti On The Train in the race to this week’s Number 1.
London quartet Bastille are currently winning, with Bad Blood having nearly a 6,500 copy lead on the veteran Welsh rockers’ eighth studio album at this mid-way stage.
Emeli Sande is set to spend her 56th consecutive week in the Official Albums Chart Top 10 this weekend with Our Version Of Events (Number 3), whileDido’s long-awaited new album, Girl Who Got Away (4), could give the British star her fourth Top 5 album in a row. Bruno Mars’ Unorthodox Jukebox completes this week’s Official Albums Chart Update Top 5, climbing one place to Number 5.
New Entries
In addition to Bastille, Stereophonics, and Dido, there are four other new entries on this week’s Official Albums Chart Update.
Birmingham singer/songwriter Laura Mvula, who was nominated for the BRITs Critics’ Choice Award and also featured in the BBC’s Sound Of 2013 poll, is on course for a Top 10 debut on Sunday with Sing To The Moon (Number 6).
Veteran US country stars Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell are new in at Number 22 today with their collaboration Old Yellow Moon, while Jimi Hendrix’s posthumous album, People, Hell And Angels, debuts at 28.
This week’s new entries are completed by former Westlife man Brian McFadden’s fourth solo album, The Irish Connection, at Number 33.
