ATEEZ make history as first K-pop act to secure three Top 10 albums in one year

ATEEZ make UK chart history today as the first K-pop group ever to earn three Official Top 10 albums in one year.

The South Korean eight-piece, comprising Hongjoong, Seonghwa, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, Wooyoung and Jongho, celebrate their third UK Top 10 with tenth collection GOLDEN HOUR: Part.1 (10); beating a record previously held by fellow K-pop group BTS in the process.

ATEEZ's first-ever Official Albums Chart entry came courtesy of THE WORLD EP.2 : OUTLAW, which peaked at Number 10 in June 2023. It was swiftly followed by THE WORLD EP.FIN : WILL, the band's highest-charting record to date with a Number 2 peak.

Now, as GOLDEN HOUR: Part.1 makes its mark less than a year after their first UK chart appearance appearance, the KQ Entertainment secure their place in Official Chart history.

BTS previously managed to acquire two Official Top 10 albums over a 12-month period in 2020, with MAP OF THE SOUL : PERSONA and MAP OF THE SOUL : 7.

Last summer, as they brought their The Fellowship : Break The Wall arena tour to the UK, ATEEZ explained how much their fans (known collectively by the moniker 'ATINY') mean to them.

Speaking to Official Charts at the time, Hongjoong said: "Thank you for always supporting us, even from afar. Thank you for making such big things happen for us. We will always try to show you our best moments, and share our best moments with you."

On ATINY organising special 'fan projects' at the group's shows, Hongjoong added: "We're always surprised to see how the fans get all 10,000 people to hold the banners up at the same time! Do they tell each other or make a promise with each other to put it up at the same time?

"I don't know how they do it, because when I search the internet about it, I can never find how they get everyone to promise with each other to put it up at the same time. We're always so surprised and really appreciate every event."
