Extraordinary! Alex Warren celebrates first-ever Number 1 single

Alex's surprise coup denies Chappell Roan the chance to replace herself at the top of the chart.

ALEX WARREN OFFICIAL NUMBER 1 SINGLE

Alex Warren performs a surprise coup today, claiming his first UK Number 1 single with Ordinary.

The breakout US singer-songwriter – who came to fame on social media – lifts one spot this week, denying Chappel Roan the chance to replace herself at Number 1.

Ordinary – a booming chamber-pop song influenced by Hozier and Florence + The Machine – had previously reached a peak of Number 2 and is the first of Alex’s tracks to reach the UK Top 10. It ends the week as the most-streamed track in the country (5.6 million streams).

Alex also sees his first Top 40 single Carry You Home lift four to a new peak of Number 20, and Burning Down up five to a new high of Number 28.

Speaking exclusively to Official Charts, Alex Warren says:

“Thank you to the UK for the Number 1 single of the week, I promise I won't let you down – I’ll make you proud!”

Despite being denied Number 1, Chappell Roan nonetheless secures this week’s highest new entry with The Giver (2). The sapphic country-bop banger becomes her fourth UK Top 10 single, and her first to debut inside the Top 10, too.

Doechii’s viral hit Anxiety clambers up to a brand-new peak of Number 3. It extends its own record as the rising superstar’s highest-charting single in the UK, now her first Top 3 single here to boot.

As Sabrina Carpenter continues to hustle on her UK & European tour, Busy Woman struts up two a brand-new best (6).

Playboi Carti debuts two new tracks from MUSIC in the Top 10; EVIL J0RDAN (7) and RATHER LIE with The Weeknd (10), taking Carti’s all-time Top 10 tally to four. A third MUSIC track, TOXIC, earns a Top 40 debut (21).

Rising English alt-metal group Sleep Token celebrate their first-ever entry into the Official Singles Chart today, as Emergence debuts at Number 17.

Get out of her face! JADE’s high-octane banger FUFN (F**k You For Now) makes a suitably dramatic entrance today at Number 25, earning the BRIT-winning pop star her second UK Top 40 entry as a solo act.

Ravyn Lenae’s breakout hit Love Me Not rises one to a new peak (26), while Lil Tecca earns his second UK Top 40 hit with new entry Dark Thoughts (30).

Superstar Adele makes a surprise re-entry today with her debut single Hometown Glory at Number 31. The emotional ballad was originally released in 2007 and reached a peak of Number 19. Week-on-week, Hometown Glory sees an increase of 42%, earning it its first appearance inside the Top 40 since 2008. It comes as the song sparks a trend on TikTok, with users posting vintage photos of their parents to the track.

South African-German rapper WizTheMc celebrates his first UK Top 40 hit with Show Me Love with Bees & Honey, lifting 15 to Number 38, while Austrian dance producer Ely Oaks also makes his Top 40 debut with Running Around up seven to Number 40.

FUFN deserves better, but saw that its chances were hurt when the clean version and the normal version were counted seperately, has been fixed now but a little too late to get her its top ten. So annoying.

Fantastic to see JADE with a second Top 40 entry!

Pleasantly surprised that 'Hometown Glory' managed to get an ACR reset for Adele.
