Paul Heaton looks ahead to first solo Number 1 album The Mighty Several – can Charli xcx catch up?
Paul Heaton is gearing up for his first solo UK Number 1 album with The Mighty Several leading the charge to top the Official Albums Chart this week.
A former member of both The Beautiful South (3 UK Number 1 albums) and The Housemartins (3 Top 10 albums), Heaton has also topped the Official Albums Chart twice with former Beautiful South bandmate Jacqui Abbott. The Mighty Several would mark his first time topping the charts entirely solo.
But you can never count a BRAT out! Charli xcx’s club opus could return to its peak in the Top 10 (2), thanks to the release of remix project Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat, featuring the likes of Ariana Grande, The 1975 and Shygirl.
With Charli’s streaming numbers potentially set to surge throughout the week, could the club queen catch up and finally take BRAT all the way to Number 1?
Elsewhere in the Top 5, James Blunt’s chart-topping 2004 debut album Back To Bedlam could return to the Top 10 for the first time in 18 years, following its 20th anniversary reissue (4).
Joke’s on you! After its release on physical formats, Lady Gaga’s soundtrack album Harlequin is set to vault back into the chart at Number 5 – and could secure Mother Monster her 9th Top 10 record, in the same week the lead single from her next full-length album is set to drop.
A final new entry in the Top 10 this week could belong to Wakefield indie-rock trio Skinny Living, who are close to securing their first Top 10 album in the UK with Day By Day (9).
The Last Dinner Party’s chart-topping debut Prelude To Ecstasy could re-enter the Top 40 thanks to the release of its deluxe edition (12), while Ben Howard’s 2014 second album I Forget Where We Were is heading for a re-entry into the chart to celebrate its 10th anniversary (19), having reached Number 1 in 2014.
We could also see brand new entries in the Top 40 from US sensation Jelly Roll’s Beautifully Broken (22), Myles Kennedy’s The Art of Letting Go (26) and The Offspring’s Supercharged (30).

The movie and album were catastrophic worldwide FLOPS, so whether she makes top 5 in the UK is irrelevant with all things considered. I doubt she'll get as many roles from now on as a result of this FLOP and I am LIVING for it.

So it doesn't count if a person mainly making music releases a side project that charts well, but her being included in a movie she didn't write or directed matters the most? What delusional world are you living in? She is currently having the biggest song in the world right now, and you are sitting here hating because you got nothing better to do. If you think that that movie is more important than anything else she is currently achieving, you should start to achive something yourself

LOL At monsters telling us it's a "side project" after she put so much effort in the movie, Soundtrack and Harlequin...which ALL bombed.
As for the "biggest song in the world right now", it's a DUET with Bruno Mars - the same guy with 8 #1's compared to Lady Gaga's pitiful solo tally of #1s. It's embarrassing you're implying the success of that song is all thanks to her. We've all seen how her music has been tanking since Artpoop, and before you scream about "ASIB", well that would've been a success regardless of whoever was cast in it. The woman isn't relevant unless she's riding other people's coat tails, and it's been like that since 2018.
Fact is, her music hasn't been good for over a decade. She hasn't had a solo #1 since forever. Hold my Hand (from mega hit, Top Gun) bombed, and was outperformed by OneRepublic. lol. Now all this with Joker FAD and that's because they cast HER in it, and turned it into a musical.
Also, what else is she "achieving" now when the only projects she has out are Joker FAD and that song with Bruno?
It's not me that's delusional, it's you.

So having TWO accounts to upvote yourself and downvote others on a CHART website is a bit extreme. I just simply don't get why you even care about her in the first place.
And you are straight up just wrong about your numbers. Bruno has had 5 number one songs on this website that you seem to spend your whole life on. Lady Gaga has had 6. Since chart numbers are the most important for you, hope you enjoy having your imaginary world fall apart right now.
Harlequin really is a side project. Do you think someone in their right mind would release a jazz album filled with covers expecting it to blow up? Well since your not thinking at all, I could see why wouldn't understand that lol. She has her roots in jazz, and it would make sense why she would do jazz side projects, like in her past.
You also seem to think that just because she's not getting her number ones anymore, she isn't at all popular. Tell that to the whole of TikTok, and to the 55 million people who listened to her monthly on Spotify when she hadn't released a real album in over 4 years.
I am providing you with facts while you are saying your opinions matched with opinions and twisted facts.
Btw if you don't think having the number one song is a big achievement, then what are you doing here writing every day?

LMAO. No, I don't have more than one account, whereas you have just proven exactly who you are by WHINING about downvotes and acting unhinged. You're an embarrassment to humanity.
