Adele's 25 certified Diamond in the United States
Another day, another milestone passed by Adele's phenomenal album 25.
The Londoner's third studio album has now been certified Diamond in the United States, a certification that signifies when an album has shifted over 10 million physical and digital sales.
25 becomes the first album to achieve this status in nearly four years; the last album to break the 10x Platinum threshold? Adele's 21 back in October 2012. Why have one Diamond record when you can have two?
25 sold over one third of its 10 million US sales in its opening week on sale when 3.38 million Americans picked up a copy of the album. The album is also the fastest-selling album ever recorded in a single chart week in the UK, shifting 800,307 units.
The album is also the fastest to ever reach two million units sold in the UK, and you guessed it, it is also the quickest to pass the three million sales barrier. We revealed during our Official Albums Chart's 60th anniversary celebrations that despite only being released in November 2015, 25 is already the 27th best selling album of all time.
Take a look at our gallery of the UK's biggest selling albums of every year in history below.

To clarify, this is for sales/digital/shipments and streams, as i believe it has only sold around 9 million in the US..... Still great news though

Actually, it has sold over 10.1 million copies in US. Album sales is over 9 million, the three singles sales (Hello, WWWY, Send my love) are equivalent to over 1 million in album sales. This is how we always arrive at the total album sales.
