Adele wins Best British Artist at the BBC Music Awards 2015
The BBC Music Awards took place last night (December 10), with Adele securing her superstar status by winning not one, but two gongs - beating Ed Sheeran, Jamie XX, Florence + The Machine, Foals, Years & Years to Best Artist.
She also outdid Florence + The Machine at Glastonbury, Jeff Lynne's ELO - Radio 2 In Concert, Lionel Richie at Glastonbury, and other live performances, for her celebrated Adele at the BBC broadcast.
One Direction opened the night with a live performance of Drag Me Down - watch it below - and Little Mix, The Shires, Ellie Goulding and Rod Stewart also performed live.
Among the other winners, Irish singer Hozier scooped song of the year for the dramatic ballad Take Me To Church - the show's only public vote - and Taylor Swift was lauded with the best international artist prize. Jack Garratt received the BBC Introducing Award.
