Adele on course to debut at Number 1 with Easy On Me

Plus new entries from Coldplay, while Becky Hill and Dermot Kennedy eye up new highest-peaks.

Adele is set for a mighty comeback this week with Easy On Me, her first single in five years. In its first 48 hours the track has amassed 70,000 chart sales and is currently outperforming the Top 10 combined as its paces towards the biggest opening week for a song on the Official Singles Chart this year. Stay tuned for further updates throughout the week.

If Easy On Me does debut at Number 1, it would be Adele’s third UK chart-topper, following Somebody Like You (2011) and Hello (2015). Her fourth album, 30, is set for release November 19. The song has already broken streaming records globally for Spotify and Apple Music.

Coldplay are looking to make big gains on the Official Singles Chart. My Universe with BTS is looking set to jump to a new peak of Number 4 following the release of the band’s ninth album, Music of the Spheres. Let Somebody Go, an album track with Selena Gomez, is also pacing to debut at Number 17.

Meanwhile, Becky Hill & Topic’s My Heart Goes (La Di Da) is set to enter the Top 10 for the first time at Number 10. It would be Becky’s fifth UK Top 10 single and Topic’s third.

Finally outside of the Top 10, Irish singer-songwriter Dermot Kennedy’s Better Days continues its upward trajectory on the chart, it could jump nine places to a new peak of Number 15.

Would love to see ELTON JOHN for a second week at number 1 but i guess that isn't going to happen with the overrated adele being back and all!! Hopefully she won't stay for months at number 1!! All her songs sound the same, so boring!

Elton and Dua song is one of the most boring songs I heard this year.

70,000 combined sales in 48+hrs is impressive. Some number 1s haven't managed that in a whole week.
Elsewhere great to see Dermot Kennedy climbing still.

I love them both, I mean, you know about the former, but Let Somebody Go is such a beautiful song and I hope it stays stable for Friday. I have a feeling it'll drop but I hope not too much!

Yeah, I think it’ll get a Top 40 debut at the very least. :)

‘My Universe’ might fall by the end of the tracking week, but I’m still amazed that it’s in the Top 5 here! :O

Maybe it'll chart in the lower regions of the top 10

it seems there were some problems with coldplay's store, so a lot of sales were not counted. it happened also on Billboard. it makes no sense at all that this huge single fell from number 3 to 12 last week.

I don’t think that’s the reason why it rebounded so much in yesterday’s First Look, but it’d definitely explain why it took such a big second week drop. :/

Yeah, I agree. :)

We’re almost certainly going to have Adele with the #1 single & Coldplay with the #1 album on Friday!

What an amazing week for British music. :)

Yes, as things stand now, the top four singles have five British acts (and one Korean).

It’ll also be the 17th consecutive week where a British artist has been #1 on the singles chart! :O

And, if I'm right all of the 4 acts have won Brit awards

avatar

Piran

Yeah, I think Adele, Elton, Dua & Ed would all have won BRITs. :)

I have absolutely no idea, but whoever said that was definitely wrong there! :P
