A Star is Born… again! Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s movie cast recording is Number 1 on the Official Irish Albums Chart for a ninth non-consecutive week.

The only album to spend longer in the penthouse this year is The Greatest Showman, which A Star Is Born dethrones this week (2). Both albums have spent a combined 25 weeks at Number 1 in 2018. While Hugh Jackman & Co had the edge on downloads and streaming this week, Gaga & Bradley had an extensive lead of physical formats.

New entries and high climbers

XXXTentacion’s first posthumous album Skins is the highest new entry at Number 9, while Niall Horan’s first live album Flicker with the RTE Concert Orchestra debuts at Number 12. Andre Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra and Coldplay also impact the Top 20 with Romantic Moments II (14) and Live in Buenos Aires (15) respectively.

Traditional Irish music collection The Secret Sessions from The Henshaw Family & Friends with special guest Sharon Shannon begins at 36, while Roy Orbison & The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra’s Unchained Melodies makes a dent at 47, and Van Morrison bows at Number 50 with The Prophet Speaks.
