A Star Is Born outshines the competition for a fifth week on the Official Irish Albums Chart
A Star Is Born continues to outshine the competition, claiming a fifth week at Number 1 on the Official Irish Albums Chart.
The cast recording, which comprises of 17 new songs sung by Gaga and Bradley Cooper, and spoken word dialogue tracks featuring other cast members, outsold the nearest competition by nearly three-copies-to-one.
Elsewhere in the Top 5, rising three to a new peak of Number 2 is the Bohemian Rhapsody OST from Queen.
New entries and high climbers
More Blood, More Tracks - The Bootleg Series Vol. 14 from Bob Dylan is the week's highest new entry at Number 8, while Lighthouse Keeper, the first album in 12 years from singer-songwriter Don Mescall, lands at 10 and is the best-selling independent album of the week.
Don commented: “That’s amazing news! My debut album came out 12 years ago so I hope everyone who’s been listening to the new album feels it was worth the wait. I really wanted it to be a record that reflected where I am in my life now.”
US producer Metro Boomin makes his first appearance on the Irish Albums Chart with Not All Heroes Wear Capes at 11, and electronica legends The Prodigy are new at 18 with No Tourists.
Following two shows at Dublin's 3Arena, U2's former chart-topping album Songs of Experience returns to the Top 50 at 31, while Barbra Streisand’s 36th studio album Walls is new at 34.
With Christmas fast approaching, Michael Buble's Christmas is back in the Top 50 for the first time this year at Number 40, and finally, Bon Jovi's Greatest Hits is back in the Top 50 at 49 following their announcement of two outdoor concerts in 2019.
