This CD belongs on the front page of Sandy Denny's catalogue!!! The talented German artist Carla Fuchs has created this CD in collaboration with Sandy's daughter Georgia. The lyrics are by Sandy Denny and Carla made the music. The result is something extraordinary, wonderful and magical! The voice is not Sandy's, but it is more than Carla's voice, simply indescribable! There has already been a CD (by Thea Gilmore) with Sandy's unpublished lyrics. Carla Fuchs' work is closer to Sandy's, it breathes more, the instruments are discreet but excellently used! And as with Sandy's previously released songs, it is also the case here that the songs grow closer and closer to you through repeated listening and even get under your skin. The album will certainly appeal to most Sandy fans, but possibly also to people who like women singing at the piano (Carole King, Chi Coltrane etc.). Carla Fuchs has brought back Sandy's spirit!

Absolutly fantastic!

Brings back so many old memories and really catches Sandys spirit. The songs are great, not just tributes but masterpieces of their own. The instrumentation and sound really fits the vibe. The booklet brings it all together with all it's small, lovely details it really transports the spirit of Sandy back to us!

Must listen!

Songbird by Carla Fuchs brings us closer to my favourite singer, Sandy Denny. Something that is good for my soul. It is no easy task given that, to me, Sandy Denny is on the highest pedestal with her vocals and songwriting. And Carla has captured both in her own way by writing beautiful tunes and providing divine vocals to go with unpublished Sandy words. Fuchs has also included her own lyrics on a tribute song to her inspiration and her inspiration's daughter, Georgia Rose, whose support of the Songbird project is wholly justified. The ethereal majesty of Sandy Denny's talent is unique but Fuchs's album is a lovely reminder of how her legacy lives on. It makes the world a better place.
