OFFICIAL CHARTS COMMENTS-Your research is very good and is valuable for future generations, especially for rock era (post-1955) recording artists. Please consider my new book "Just Remember This",(sold in Britain) that considers the likes of the pre-rock generations of popular vocalists BEFORE 1950?/While you DO get into them,I get into a bit more.Since most of these voices did not know genre or charts, except for sales figures gobbed up by record companies,it may be a good help for your organization to use my info and expand your listings-especially on those older 'pop'artists. If you pick up my manuscript you just may find a huge link of (British) influences on American Pop,as well as more than a few recordings of American entities more popular in Britain than here (in the states)./While only hinted in the book, perhaps my own (late) English mother,a WWII war bride, who was a huge follower of popular music, figured into many of my own observations?Maybe your organization can find out more about old sales figures like those of Josephine Baker (France & Britain),Adelaide Hall,Marion Harris, Hildegarde, Valadia Snow, and especially the Japanese pre-1939 sales figures of Midge Williams?/While NOT a featured artist in my book, you may be able to find out the REAL record sales of Elvis Presley by tracking the royalties paid to songwriters, that were perhaps pocked by Col.Parker? Since Parker is a newcomer in my book, perhaps the likes of Clarence Williams,Al Jolson,Rudy Vallee,Jimmie Davis ,Duke Ellington,Tommy Dorsey, among many, found Parker only following them and a music business just full of easy money and exploitation?Sales without charting? Please consider me a source?/ Thank you/Colin Bratkovich/
