GOTYE

Who is Gotye?

Gotye is a chart-topping Belgian-Australian singer who rose to fame in the UK in 2012 when his duet with Kimbra, Somebody That I Used To Know, reached Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart.

The million-selling Somebody That I Used To Know went on to become the best-selling song of 2012, just ahead of Carly Rae Jepsen's Call Me Maybe, in what was the biggest year on record for annual sales of singles in the UK, with 188.6 million singles purchased thanks to the peak of the digital download era.

Gotye, who was born in Belgium on 21 May 1980 before moving to Australia at age 2, also earned a Top 5 album on the Official Albums Chart in the same month with Making Mirrors, on which Somebody That I Used To Know features on its tracklist.
