Who is Doechii?

Doechii (real name Jaylah Ji'mya Hickmon) is an American rapper, singer and songwriter from Tampa, Florida. 

First coming to notice in 2021 with viral single Yucky Blucky Fruitcake, Doechii quickly built up a dedicated fanbase and headed out on tour with acts like SZA and Doja Cat. 2023 brought her first entry in the Official Singles Chart, with the bouncy What It Is (Broke Boy), which peaked at Number 63.

In 2024, Doechii released her most notable body of work, her third mixtape Alligator Bites Never Heal, as well as the frantic single Alter-Ego with City Girls' JT, and an eye-catching feature on Katy Perry's club-pop offering I'm His, He's Mine. 

In February 2025 Doechii finally earned her first UK Top 10 appearance with viral track DENIAL IS A RIVER. In doing so Doechii became the first solo female rapper to reach the Top 10 in two years, since Doja Cat’s chart-topping Paint The Town Red in 2023.
