Ice Spice, real name Isis Naija Gaston, is an American rapper born and raised in The Bronx, New York. She was initially inspired to start rapping by Sheff G and Pop Smoke, and has also name-checked Cardi B, Lil' Kim, Nicki Minaj and Foxy Brown, as musical influences due to their New York roots.
February 2023 saw Ice Spice's debut appearance on the UK Official Chart with In Ha Mood, peaking at Number 58, and her breakthrough UK Top 5 hit came in summer of that year featuring on Barbie World from the blockbuster Barbie movie, alongside Nicki Minaj and Aqua, the song reached Number 4.
